For more than fifty years, The North Face has been promoting the culture of exploration. With its countryside and urban-sport design it invites us to new adventures, to discover hidden places and admire the world in all its majesty. But as beautiful as it may be, nature must be protected, preserved and preserved. Today, on the occasion of World Earth Day, the American brand launches a new initiative reminding us of the commitment we should put into practice every day to preserve the home that has always housed us.

As the name of the project “Exploration without Compromise” suggests, the intention is therefore to explore the earth without compromising it. A considerable commitment that certainly does not exclude many solutions. One example among all, as The North Face suggests, could be to reduce environmental impact. Considering the fact that more than half of the CO2 emissions are generated by the various stages of product realization, the brand will strive to optimize its production.
Specifically, the company will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by relying on regenerative agriculture and less harmful fabrics. By 2023, 100% of the brand’s polyester and 80% of its nylon fabrics will be made with recycled content to reach 2025, where 100% of the materials used will be recycled, regenerated or otherwise reused.
The second sustainable commitment promoted by the brand aims to extend the life cycle of a product by preventing it from ending up in landfills, further polluting the entire system. In the platform “The North Face Renewed”, which will be inaugurated soon; articles can be resold, repaired and recycled, allowing customers to purchase renewed products at a lower market price. A full circular clothing collection of reconverted franchise styles is even expected in the autumn of 2022.

“We have a holistic approach to sustainability”, explained Michael Horsch, VP Product and Marketing, EMEA, The North Face. “By analyzing the impact of our products throughout their life cycle, we were able to focus on key areas for improvement, in order to make the most contribution to safeguarding our planet. The North Face Renewed and Exploration Without Compromise want to confirm our renewed commitment to minimise our environmental impact without compromising on quality standards. ”
