Stone Island collaborates with Nike for a golf-style capsule collection

Just in time for the 2019 Open Championship, here is the new Stone Island x Nike collaboration, a capsule collection dedicated to the world of golf.

The new Stone Island x Nike capsule comprises two pieces: a jacket with specific pockets to hold balls, tees and gloves and a round neck, both characterized by the fusion of the performing properties of Nike with the typical innovations of Stone Island.

Each garment has been constructed to perfectly fit the movement during the swing and is engineered to maximize its freedom. The pieces are made of materials such as military cotton, weather-resistant fabrics and adaptive fibers to help control body temperature throughout the game.
Colors include gray and turquoise for both items, while the choker is also offered in yellow for a bolder option.

“Knowing that conditions during the tournament can change quickly and can be quite challenging, we wanted to focus on outerwear. As an expert in creating products that are well suited to appearance, Stone Island was a natural partner in finding the best solutions”, said Kelly Tweeden, VP and creative director of Nike Golf, Nike Tennis and Nike Skateboarding.

The creative director of Stone Island Carlo Rivetti also added: “When we think about garments, fabrics and treatments, one of the constants that always accompanies us is the search for performance and functionality. Dyeing in garments and other treatments with a finished garment complicate in an exponential way the tightness of the fabrics and the work of our modellers and our dressmakers, so everything must be calculated in detail.This makes Stone Island garments close to sport but above all close to sportsmen, loved and recognized”.

The Stone Island x Nike capsule will make its debut at the Royal Portrush Open from 18 to 21 July. Instead, it will be released for sale starting July 25 in selected Stone Island single-brand stores, on its worldwide e-shop and at Nike Lab stores.
