Eva and Carolina tell us the story of their Milanese brand Acidalatte, a playful and vibrant emerging label that combines innovation and sensitivity through artistic manipulation and processing of fabrics.
In a girlish aesthetic, in search of its own inner child, the brand offers unique handmade garments and accessories, made with both new and recycled materials.

Hello girls! thank you for accepting our invitation. To break the ice we ask you immediately: how was Acidalatte born?
Hello to you, it’s always a pleasure to be able to tell us.
Acidalatte was born in September last year, from the union of our two creative minds (Eva and Carolina). We both graduated on February 14, 2020, after quarantine we had (and still have) a great desire to express ourselves, to create something made us move. Thus was born the Acidalatte project.
What does Acidalatte mean? Why this name?
Acidalatte is the combination of two words: “Acid” represents our more mature, “dirty”, more aware part; “Milk”, on the contrary, sums up the child and candid soul that is perpetually within us.
Yours is a brand based on upcycling and uniqueness of the products, could you explain us the reason and the pros and cons of this choice?
The reasons for this choice are many, and they can only be positive.
Owning a unique garment all over the world, made with truly recycled materials, hand-sewn directly by the two designers who designed it.
Belonging to a world that you somehow make yours, always.
For us it is a great joy.
What is the creative and production process behind each piece of Acidalatte?
Everything starts from the continuous search for second-hand fabrics, objects and accessories.
Friends, acquaintances and relatives continually open doors of their homes to us to select material (often truly unique).
Next, we design: we experiment with new techniques, we design new models, we seek inspiration from whatever we see, perceive, study.
Finally, there is practical part, the moment when garment takes shape.
How do you choose and procure materials that compose your garments?
As we answered in the previous question, our friends and family have learned to put up with us (and support us).
We spend whole days in search of materials, we study the fabrics, shapes, objects we find, often unexpectedly wonderful.
Many people unknown to us are also contacting us to donate pieces of their lives to the project.
Knowing them and their intimacy, history, really fills our hearts.
Where do you get your major inspiration from?
Perhaps, as you have already understood, we are both two very curious people. What one learns, she passes on to the other. We are totally complicit in a game of interpretation and sensitivity.
Acidalatte emerges in a difficult period: do you think the pandemic has somehow affected the birth of your brand?
It’s certainly a difficult period, but we believe that Acidalatte has somehow saved us. It allowed us to create something totally ours and gave us the courage to make it known.
We were fascinated by your latest fashion film “Graziose Inquietudini”. How did the idea for the making of this video come about? Can you tell us some background?
“Graziose Inquietudini” was written entirely by us. We like to define our first Fashion Film as a moving moodboard of our “Third Chapter” (the third capsule online now on our e-commerce).
The story tells of two little girls who live their lives in the monotonous routine of the girls’ boarding school in Colle Malfiorito. Their days are marked by a series of repetitive situations from which they try to escape, taking refuge in a world of their own, in which they live distracted with their imaginary friend Mr. Rabbit. In spite of themselves, Eva and Carolina become aware of their fictitious reality and the constant weight of not being able to roam free in their graceful anxieties.
A background?
Nothing is what it seems, we were truly actresses to play two roles so serious and apathetic: we are both emotional, sensitive and definitely out of line.

What would you say to those who still don’t know you? What sets you apart?
It takes very little to recognize us 😉
What are your dreams and plans for the future?
Every day we both propose new ideas and new future projects, from Friday 7 May we started selling a capsule inspired by “Chapter Three” created specifically for the boutique Sous Vintage Shop (Alzaia Naviglio Pavese 50 MI).
It’s a great satisfaction to see workers and people in the sector believe in our project.
Small spoiler? “Chapter Four” is coming!!!!!
