Also Converse is moving towards a more sustainable fashion by introducing a new range of Chuck Taylor made with used plastic bottles.

“Renew Initiative” is the new eco-friendly program with which Converse aims to recreate its stores in a more innovative and sustainable way using post-consumer and post-industrial waste. Within this strategy, Converse has also decided to include totally eco-sustainable products, starting from the two flagships of the brand: the Chuck Taylor All Star and Chuck 70 sneakers.

Both the Chuck Taylor maintain the original silhouette, but their upper, as well as the laces are made of 100% recycled polyester from used plastic bottles.
The shoes are made with a newly developed PET yarn that reproduces the original iconic cotton canvas, and is available in a variety of colors that will be available later this season, including “Moss Green”, “Ozone Blue”, “Wheat”, “Pale Putty”, “Black” and “Jane Stone”.

The new Converse Chuck Taylor Renew Canvas will be launched globally on July 5th on the online store.
