I do not like to talk about fashion shows. But now that a brand like Marcelo Burlon County Of Milan goes on the catwalk during the fashion shows in Milan and is included in the official calendar near big names I am forced to consider the thing.

Then I went to see me photos of all the catwalks. And I understand why Marcelo Burlon is breaking asses at everybody. While many were mummies trying to stammer a script that no longer know, looking for inspiration that they no longer have. It is these that should raise questions.
On the one hand we have a number of brands with a class and timeless style. At the end round and round hats off to King Giorgio Armani: if you look at the garments you will understand what it’s timeless style, consistency and ability to be always present. For me the most beautiful collection, elegant, portable. No need to shout.
Then a series of brand anchored to their traditions, they deserve respect and do not need to make major changes: a name? Missoni. Respect.
Sure, but brands on the catwalk already 40 years ago. That hardly will make dream new generations or dictate again a revolution in style.
Then a number of brands of young talent, but when compared to their masters who have their firsts fashion show their age in the 80s seem schoolboys who have won a prize trip on the catwalk in Milan. Young hopes.
Then a series of brands that seem to me in serious identity crisis. DSquared presents what in my personal opinion is the ugliest collection of the brand that I remember. Gucci instead brings to the stage a collection that appears to me far from any portability, in every place and at every time. If I’d seen her in a second I could not tell in what year we are referring. Personal opinions that are contradicted by many fans, but certainly not wasted on social also grumbling of disappointed.

Then comes Marcelo Burlon: a bomb of energy, a precise identity. Personally, I admit, I loved most the previous collection, the next season to 2015-16- However the importance of this collection goes further: projects the brand by momentary phenomenon to brand to last. It blends for the first time at this level streetwear and high fashion.
With graphics of a crazy power (great as always the magic of Giorgio Di Salvo), but also capable of going beyond the illustrations that have characterized it, using monochromatic colors black or white, or using intricate tribal patterns to make real clothes.
Giorgio Armani and Marcelo Burlon, the two extremes and farthest possible of these fashion shows in Milan. Amid a sea of doubt.
