Dua Lipa’s style is unmistakable. Always sexy, with a strongly jaunty and young appeal that never gives up the typical timeless elegance of bon ton dresses, which we sometimes see her wearing. Thanks also to the work of Lorenzo Posocco, the stylist who takes care of her outfits, the pop singer’s looks have had a lot of success in recent months, becoming a source of inspiration for the female audience that follows her.
In fact, on every occasion, whether it is social or television, Dua Lipa always manages to upset us and also for the release of the music video of We’re Good (the new single of the singer, taken from the album Future Nostalgia) we would like to tell you that expectations were not disappointed at all.
The video is a slightly modernized simulation of a piano bar: in an “old-fashioned” restaurant (complete with a classic aquarium with live crustaceans on display and ready to be eaten by the first buyer), a piano bar is offered with background music and voice of a splendid singer, who in this case could only be the beautiful Dua.
It is only at the end of the video clip that we discover that the restaurant is above the fateful Titanic: a metaphor for the fact that the ship is sinking as the relationship of which Lipa sings is sinking.
With a different styling operation, the outfits in the video adapt perfectly to the context, faithfully capturing not only the historical aspect of the situation, but also the world of film culture.
Posocco, the stylist who took care of the costumes of the music video, gave a new life and a new use to the clothes from the Prada archive, designed by Miuccia Prada and Catherine Martin for the film “The Great Gatsby” by Baz Luhrmann, published in 2013 and inspired by the famous novel of the same name written by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
In the film, as also in the video by Dua Lipa, the atmosphere is that of the Roaring Twenties and what better clothes than the costumes of one of the most gorgeous films of recent years?
Sequins, crystals (typical of low-rise 1920s dresses) are embroidered on glittering silk dresses and mixed with fabrics and precious stones, such as velvets and furs, emeralds, jade stones, topazes and gold tips .
The white perforated geometric pattern dress that Dua Lipa wears is a dress from Prada’s SS 2010 show and is the usual dress that made billions of women dream by staring at the beautiful Daisy in Baz Luhrmann’s film!
