WEAREABLE NATURE: ALEX MONROE'S JEWELLERY

During last White Milano tradeshow, Wait team visited the jewellery area and had the opportunity to discover a very interesting brand from United Kingdom: Alex Monroe.

Alex Monroe jewellery is synonymous with a very British sense of style. It is feminine, delicate and quirky, but above all consistently wearable. Each and every piece is individually designed and handmade in England by Alex and his team.

Alex grew up in the countryside, in the wilds of Suffolk in a big old house surrounded by nature. He lived a life of adventure in rivers and forests, roaming freely in nature’s playground. In the years to come, this idyllic but eccentric childhood would shape Alex’s jewellery.

The first collection was created in 1987, and during his carrier he has collaborated with a dazzling and diverse array of partners from Buckingham Palace to Nike, The Victoria and Albert Museum to Anthropologie, and the last one collaboration with Sophia Webster. His jewellery was firstly made to be worn and made to be loved and these values remain unchanged to this day.

Alex hand-makes all of his original designs using traditional jewellery techniques. He will often fashion his own tools to help with the creation of a new piece.

Alex’s fine jewellery collections are called Goldcrest. Featuring delicate necklaces and petite diamond earrings, pretty and sparkling diamond engagement rings and subtely textured wedding bands. Every piece in the Goldcrest collection is handmade in 18ct yellow, rose or white gold, with a number of designs also available in platinum.

A feather floating on the breeze, a bumblebee buzzing amongst the flowers, or perhaps battered old suitcase weary of so much travel. The possibilities are endless and it can also have an extra personal touch if required, because what it makes really different this brand to others is the infinitive imagination.
