Possible faces, but which do not exist. Yet there are. These are the virtual models of the NARÈNTE project “UN_identity” created by the creative couple Lucio Aru and Franco Erre. These two photographers give birth to the stories and biographies of virtual faces making them live in truly existing locations.
A completely credible, completely true editorial. A photographic series that is possible, but that doesn’t exist, still makes us doubt that these people live with us in the real world.
We go beyond the limits of the human being, a bit because man has always had to demonstrate (to those who have not yet understood well) his superiority and control over things; a little bit because you are never satisfied with where you come from. In other words, we want more and more of what we get because those who are satisfied enjoy … so-so.
Real, imaginary, visible and invisible. They may seem like contradictory terms, but in reality we are all of this. We have a real body that we can touch, but we live in an invisible world that most of the time we build with our imagination. Everyone in his world that we live simply by turning on any type of screen that is that of the smartphone or PC.
At this point we present the digital models of NARÈNTE: different, imperfect, as well as all of us.
Andrea, 23 / Location: Bosa
Between Berlin and Milan the digital model Andrea is a non-binary, anarchist who adapts to any situation.

Maura, 25 / Location: Cagliari
Digital Philosopher and 3D developer, Maura finally inhabits the body she has always felt she belongs to. Despite being created through male pixels, its true planet was Venus.

Crystal, anni 28 / Location: Giorgino
Beauty queen now sings traps in French, Crystal is an aristocratic creation that in his spare time reads Baudelaire while devouring images of French fries and Bertolucci’s films.

Hanima, 27 / Location: Macchiareddu
With a cultural background certainly not among the most common (Sardinian-Pakistani) Hanima is a revolutionary digital poet. Speaks Italian, English and Urdu. He decides to add Japanese to his knowledge, a culture to which he feels inexplicably linked since it was created.

Inserting itself in the artistic current of 3D rendering, where flesh-and-bone models become avatars made of pixels, NARÈNTE immerses us in a completely virtual world.
So likely to make us appear real, but too defined to be human. Here are the NARÈNTE models. Digital models that break down the limits of our reality.
“We decided to create a mini series of digital model portraits that we baptized one after the other, then inserting them in truly existing locations that we had taken and stored in our database. UN-identity is the result of this mixture, it is a possible series, but one that does not exist. Yet there is.“
