What if we could stay connected without looking at the screens of our smartphone at the same time?
“Connected, not distracted” is the new social campaign by Google Atap (Advanced Technology & Projects) that, through a series of photos representing talented young artists, tells us about the collaboration between Jacquard by Google and the iconic brand Levi’s®.
But what is Jacquard by Google? The future of Smart Clothing. An invisible device inserted in the clothes gives you the possibility to control your smartphone.
The goal is to remain always connected, not only to the digital world but, and perhaps, above all to what surrounds us: because everyone, at least once in his life, has looked away from the interlocutor to check the social media.
The denim jacket allows you to listen to music, make calls, take pictures, receive notifications and more, simply “touching” your left sleeve.

Everything is completely customizable using the Jacquard app.
There are four gestures and they can be combined up to nineteen activities.
You may want to combine the blue color with the phone number of your best friend and red with the one of your boss and know so much in advance what tone to assume during the call, or even listen to the news with a double click.
The jacket has been launched in four different denim tones, from dark blue to light blue, and in the model “Sherpa” with synthetic fur.
The price is superior to the one of the normal Trucker jacket, but, definitely appropriate.
In this way, the Brand, which 150 years ago gave life to blue jeans, pioneers a technology that looks to the future of fashion and combines classic style with digital avant-garde.
However, Levi’s is not the only brand that collaborated with Jacquard.
The most recent partnership is with Adidas and EA sports. They designed GMR a revolutionary shoe insole that tracks movements. If you put it inside your soccer shoes the real physical activity merges with digital gaming.
Not much time ago, also Yves Saint Laurent designed with Google Atap the Cit-e backpack. The classy accessory in Canvas has touch sensors in the left strap.
Who says that elegance and high tech can’t live together?

Smart clothing seems to destroy the line between real and virtual: a concept that no-one can negatively judge if we think about the cooperation between two brands like Google and Levi’s®.
