Among the dresses worn by the stars during the Met Gala 2022 to attract our attention were definitely those signed by Thom Browne. The designer has recently presented his Fall/Winter 22-23 collection with a show held on 11th avenue in Manatthan.
The American designer has created a collection out of the box to celebrate his origins. The narrative was devised by him with the intent of speaking of New York as “an island of misfit toys” and of the way people come to the city “to find themselves and to create themselves” according to what he said.
In a setting consisting of 500 teddy bears who attend the runway sitting in grey chairs while wearing the formal uniforms that have made the brand famous, no details have been left out.
A playful and eccentric environment that goes perfectly with the clothes created for men and women. The designer, famous for his contemporary reinterpretation of the classic sartorial dresses, this time did not limit himself to replacing the pants of men’s suits with skirts similar to the kilt.
In his fall/winter 2022 collection there is a mix of fabrics, lines, shapes, materials, patterns and colors never seen before. From the spherical hairstyles to the animal-shaped accessories that have made him popular, the whole collection is a perfect example of how you can make formality carefree and fun.
Childhood memories are brought back to life with unexpected proportions, it is a way to keep alive that light-hearted creativity and that childlike innocence that is easy to forget you had once you become an adult.
