Minimalism, androgyny and functionality. Observing Helmut Lang‘s items means traveling into the past, in the atmosphere of an new New York, which as soon as you turn the corner gives you something you would not have expected.

In that moment was the Nineties and fashion has already told a lot, has been able to amaze with shapes, colors and fancy fabrics. What is missing is a linear, ‘clean’ aesthetic assimilated to a different tailoring that leaves no escape for the collective imagination. We are in the Nineties and the visionary Helmut Lang makes his appearance and, with a pinch of futurism and innovation, amazes people with a new idea of ’beauty’; an idea that he never left, but that he has always meticulously kept in his creations, as well as in the latest Fall Winter 2021 collection.

The aesthetic of the collection clearly follows its concept: a genderless tailoring, cut-out cuts and practical, hi-tech fabrics, such as denim, cotton, eco-leather and waterproof materials; they are flexible and adaptable to every season, thanks to detachable sleeves, removable parts, zip and elastics. Lang’s philosophy is also highlighted in the chromatic choice. A matt black dominates the scene, while some patchwork touches of lime yellow, orange, silver and light blue emerge from the aseptic environment that surrounds the models, creating a conceptual and luminous background.
