The collaboration between Facebook, Luxottica and Ray-Ban has given birth to a new generation of smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Stories.
Fashion and technology come together to offer a unique and cutting-edge product and if in the past it seemed impossible to have glasses from which to take pictures, answer the phone or make videos, today Luxottica, Ray-Ban and Facebook have made it possible .

These smart glasses in fact allow you to precisely take photographs, shoot videos of up to 30 seconds, play music, share data on social networks and finally manage calls or SMS thanks to their Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection.
The question arises spontaneously how it is possible to have so many features and technologies in a pair of glasses, but above all how they can be managed. Here the manufacturers have placed the control buttons along the temples, slightly larger than the classic ones.

The left arm internally has the power button of the glasses, while the right one has integrated the button with which you can start a video or generate a shot, based on the pressure exerted. Also from the right arm, by touching the surface, it is possible to enable the voice interface and modulate the volume of the speakers whose outputs are located at the bottom of the rods.
The vocal microphones are located precisely next to the Ray-Ban logo, while the two 5 Megapixel cameras are located near the hinges. For privacy reasons, when you are taking a photo or shooting a video, a small LED light turns on to indicate this.

The glasses, like the latest generation Bluetooth headsets, are recharged in the case connected to the power outlet, have an autonomy of 6 hours and, a small limit, are not yet designed to withstand water.
Having listed all the features of the new smart glasses, let’s see what really makes them iconic: the chosen models.
Luxottica (owner of Ray-Ban for about twenty-two years) has selected three models of the popular American brand: the Wayfarer, the Round and the Meteor which obviously maintain their unmistakable aesthetic, an integral part of today’s Western culture.

So has the smartphone been surpassed in the name of an equally functional fashion accessory? Not entirely, in fact, the manufacturing companies specify that it is necessary to manage the data (photographs and videos) produced by the glasses through a smartphone app, Facebook View, accessible with a single account.
Ray-Ban Stories are available in select stores or on the official Ray-Ban website. The price ranges from $ 299 to $ 379, depending on the type of lens chosen (basic, polarized or photochromic lens). In Italy the price starts from € 329 to reach a maximum of € 409.
