The sunglasses collection for this autumn-winter 2018 by Pomellato is of a summer flavor. It is in the colors, typically of the beautiful season (pink, light blue, yellow, orange and green) and in the shapes, which become sinuous, to the detriment of the rigid ones, aesthetically recognizable in the cold period of the year.
The high-end jewelry and accessories brand founded in Milan in 1967 by Pino Rabolini, who died a little less than a month ago, has always played with the design of its creations and also does it for the occasion, reflecting the “colorful and unconventional” spirit the maison through precious details and refined contrasts that evoke the charm and brightness of precious stones. In particular those of Nudo gems, one of the flagship collections. Here, then, the two seemingly separate worlds meet and nurture each other creatively.
The exposed frames, the artisanal content, and variegated silhouettes, give life to models such as the classic and hyper-feminine cat-eye and the squared with an amplified shape, both forged with an original double-lens effect contrast construction.
“Beauty is like a rich gem, for which the best frame is the simplest.” This is how Francesco Bacone wrote during the Renaissance period. The same language and approach has been adopted by Pomellato for this collection, now in stores.
