One is called Rim, the other Acetate Bumper. The first is the line of men sunglasses signed by Bottega Veneta, under the creative direction of Tomas Maier, the second is designed by Scottish designer Christopher Kane, for its eponymous fashion house. And if the Italian company points to a lightweight consistency thanks to the use of ultra light aluminum, and the braided detail placed on the terminals, the iconic aesthetic figure of the maison, the Anglo-Saxon brand responds with a single acetate model expressed by different colors like the classic black, green mint, until you get to the electric blue, primary yellow, red and pink, which can be worn, also by the woman.
If Bottega Veneta’s glasses are Maier’s contemporary style emblem, conjugated to the classicism of the brand founded in 1966 in Vicenza, those of Kane are distinguished by the detail of the bumper – already known in the British designer’s accessory collections – that discovers a new interpretation of the frames, creating combinations of materials and finishes with tone or contrast pigments.
And with regard to antinomy, the Rim models wanted by Maier are characterized by a touch of finishes, textures and colors that add a touch of character and exclusivity to the collection. To emphasize the uniqueness of the line, there is an extra ingredient: handmade in Italy. The characteristic semi-spherical metal rivets, in fact, are handmade by the artisan masters to whom the Italian company refers.
These two models of autumn sunglasses are certainly different for shape, color and audience, to demonstrate that when there is creativity and mastery, differences emerge and can embrace heterogeneous tastes.
