For the second collection of Louise Trotter for Lacoste Spring/Summer 2020, Helen Kirkum, the “collagist of sneakers” has rework the iconic brand’s sneakers.

Helen Kirkum is an artist and designer based in London that, after having graduated at the London Royal College of Art in 2016, has founded, a year later, her first studio in order to create and showcase her handmade creations.
Her avant-garde shoes, are made-to-order, because every piece is one of a kind. The sneakers, passing through her hands, become wearable collage which melt together different materials, creating a sustainable and never trivial product.

In occasion of this collaboration, Lacoste opened its archives to the designer, allowing her to deconstruct, cut and reassemble the past season’s leftovers, to create upcycled sneakers. The unisex sneakers proposed in the fashion show are new hybrids, referred to the iconic Lacoste models.
The model René, pays homage to the first shoe designed by René Lacoste in 1963, which perfectly envelop the foot to allow a better performance during the tennis matches.
The model G80, symbol of the tennis tradition which celebrates the rich history of Lacoste, is in a perfect 80’s style, and designed specially for professional tennis players.
The model V-Ultra, appeared for the first time in the 2000’s, has a more futuristic look, and it has been renewed during the years in order to fit the nowadays aesthetic.
