It is important not to lose sight of emerging designers and brands, who base their identity and aesthetics on craftsmanship and quality! HumptyDum The emerging brand of Silvia Nogara and Federica Pessina. Wait Fashion asked 5 questions, Il Duo tells in this interview how HumptyDum was born and what are the future projects.
How was HumptyDum born?
The brand was born in 2017 and its name is inspired by Humpty Dumpty, character from the tale written by Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland. This egg dangles on a wall and ignoring the recommendations, hums a rhyme, risking falling and breaking; a name, a play on words and a metaphor that we have chosen to make ours, pursuing this dream and putting ourselves to the test. We (Silvia Nogara and Federica Pessina) personally take care of every single step, from concept to production, giving life to garments with pop colors, made with bold fabrics, a fresh and sophisticated design, with a focus on Green Fashion.

What do you like most about your current Brand Identity?
Humpty Dum, in addition to an unusual and funny pronunciation, is characterized by being a production brand entirely Made in Italy and with an exclusively artisan imprint; in addition to this focus on slow production, the garments are designed to be impactful but also very comfortable: the wearer of Humpty Dum is a style-conscious figure who does not want to give up the practicality of a comfortable and quality garment.
A brand that Humptydum admires? Who would you like to be inspired by?
Humpty’s world is iconic, colorful, pop and fun … to create we take a lot of inspiration from street art and pop aesthetics.



What are your future projects?
The brand offers two lines: the first line, proposed in Spring / Summer and Autumn / Winter, presents limited edition garments with whimsical designs, the perfect playground where we best express our tailoring skills and our creativity. The collections are made exclusively within the brand’s tailoring. The basic line, more ” standard ” in terms of proposals, but very little close to anything ordinary, presents the world of sportswear declined in original colors and drops. Very soon you will see us online with all the latest news that embody the commitment of recent months to offer our new basic line that will be released in mid-May and our first line of sunglasses, exclusively produced and Made in Italy. The new glasses will be available from early June in different and colorful variations.
Where do you see your brand in 10 years?
The commitment we put into the brand every day is to create a reality that respects the environment and carries forward the values of Made in Italy. Our world allows us to realize not only our ideas but also to become a point of reference for those who, like us, want to make fashion with a different approach. In 10 years we would like to see our brand make its way between Milan, London, Paris and New York bringing the values of Made in Italy and the wonderful experience of an artisanal production in our single-brand shop. As figures we would like to be more and more a point of reference for young people and the ethics of slow fashion.
