The designer Karl Lagerfeld died today in Paris at the age of 85, after a period of illness.
The world of fashion is in mourning. And despite his absence at the last Haute Couture show, no one expected the news to come so soon.
Karl was not just a designer, he was not just the creative director of Chanel, or a photographer, or a cartoonist. It was an icon. Seven decades dedicated entirely to the world of fashion in which he made entire generations dream. A dream that will remain in everyone’s heart and that will never fade away, because in a world like the one we’re living now, it is difficult to keep up with the times, but I refer to myself. And in this Karl has done it, with elegance and a bit of self-irony that has always made it special.
Said that, it is almost useless now to be here and remember all his career.
