Karl Lagerfeld has just presented his highly anticipated Spring / Summer 2019 collection for Chanel at the Paris Fashion Week.
The set presented a faithful reproduction of a beach and also referred to the idyllic beach of Deauville, the enclave in the south of France, where Coco Chanel, in a particular period of her life, took refuge there to find herself.
The models initially paraded barefoot on the sand, then proceeded with sandals and sabots on the gangway. In this magnificent screenplay the designer showed off a collection of voluminous baby doll dresses, swimsuits with prints of umbrellas and fine knit dresses. We could not even miss the iconic Chanel bouclé suits that were reworked in the shades of lemon and coral and with a silhouette much more loose than those seen so far.
The collection also featured extravagant straw hats, as well as belts and accessories with a vintage-inspired logo.
Obviously, as this is a show by Chanel, the central theme was not just a simple background, but a full and engaging experience.
