Milano Moda Uomo closed its doors yesterday. And let’s say that it did not end better than it started. It simply fulfilled the negative expectations I had already talked about here.

I would start from the fact that I’m not talking about the garments in themselves that they may like or dislike. It is not in fact a judgment on personal taste, but a reflection. On why and how fashion is NOT CHANGING, but it is getting worse.
First reflection. Because despite being Men’s Fashion Week, although we are in Milan, capital par excellence of fashion, the clothes that have stood out most for originality were the women’s ones? (I’m not biased, I’m the first one who likes men’s fashion and likes to steal clothes from various male wardrobes).
In light of this, another question arises. We are in the 21st century. Choose to show women or men on a single runway. Or both. I don’t care. But why do you like so much headaches to the whole world and to those who work in the middle?
Said that, anyway from Milan Men’s Fashion Week, with a total of 27 fashion shows and 14 presentations, we couldn’t expect so much, but the overall mind was just a crop and paste the various items taken from the wardrobe of a decade passed by chance , and throw us on some streetwear, so, just to take a slice of the market so popular now and make some money.
There is nothing wrong with this, on the other hand we have to bring the loaf home. What I regret a bit is having lost sight of a style and the desire to want to tell the world something.
Here is what is missing behind each show. A story. A real story.
Let’s say that the only brand that managed to convey an emotion was Prada. Chapeu.

Prada
Let’s analyze the brands
The only one who did not take a decade passed by chance, but went directly to chop the Neanderthal man from prehistory, he put it elegantly in the office and then threw it into space was Armani with the Emporio Armani line .
Officially the designer presented it as a show that should mark the change/modernization of the label while maintaining its roots.
More plausible instead of him to himself at some point we said: “mah you know it’s there, I do not get it wrong, so I can not say that I always do the same things, something good or bad sell “.
Ok, I should admit that elegance still remains always a trend despite the time. But seriously, every time, we need 140 outfits of which 135 are almost the same ?

Fendi and Ermenegildo Zegna are now at the height of boredom. The latter at least tried to make a show a little out of the lines in Central Station, but it was nothing but in fact divert attention from the leaders and avoid the sleeping effect.

Marcelo Burlon and Philipp Plein, what about … mah, nothing to say. Seriously, there’s nothing to talk about. I tried to force myself, I swear, but I did not make it.

Neil Barrett and Versace, on the other hand, could very well have paraded together. They are practically identical. They would have saved a lot of money and saved time for those who had to run from one fashion show to another.

N°21. It seems more than exhaustive to put a simple picture. I would just like to remind you a couple of details: 2019, fall/winter. Who wants to understand, understand.

Way for the young?
Way for the young, yes, but not here apparently, since now the so-called “new talents”, the only new thing they have is only the name (and not even that much).
Oblivious to the fact that fashion is born to DETECT the rules, they let themselves be carried away by the god of money and by the now powerful ignorant market, which is nothing but devastating and dragging away any form of expression and creativity.
The only thing I can see is a dog biting its tail.
Conclusion
Yes, ok, “fashion is too much filled”, “now it’s just a return of styles” and blah blah blah, but how is possible that we are no longer able to express something?
The answer will follow the next episode.
