She has precise ideas. If in this regard it sums a great knowledge of the most valuable materials and a reading key of the fashion market made according to precise logic, thus meeting the needs of a rather large female audience, we can say that what Federica Tosi is building, is an increasingly solid and concrete reality within this industry. With her own brand, born in 2016, the Roman designer already has partnerships with major stores in different countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Russia, the United States of America and of course Italy. Land, the latter, where she decided to produce her collections, whose garments are worn by prominent personalities, as did Princess Charlene of Monaco recently.
Federica, how are you in your path as a designer of your eponymous brand?
Although I feel like I am just in the beginning, I realize that almost two years have passed since launching my brand and I’m already presenting my fourth collection! Time allows me to focus on my project with ever greater acuity, drawing a more and more defined line on my professional growth path.
Recently Princess Charlene of Monaco has worn one of your garments of the summer collection. Is it the emblem of a woman to whom you are inspired?
I am so pleased to dress the Princess, because she is always very elegant and attentive to her style. However, my source of inspiration is the woman in her being a strong figure and character who lives her independence without a care, with extreme freedom, and she shows it by choosing what to wear. It’s not necessarily a celebrity I’m inspired, although I’m obviously happy when a woman of this size chooses to dress up Federica Tosi.
The next winter collection plays on duality femininity and rock clarity, two features often used by your colleagues. In what your proposal is different from the others?
For me every clothe, even the one with the least cut, must have a sensual touch. My soul is rock and rock is part of my dna, to which I add an indispensable chic touch. So the details make a difference: just a splash or neckline at the right point to break the flavor of an outfit while remaining versatile, comfortable, easy to wear all day long. My is an urban and contemporary collection, looks at the trend without forgetting the everyday use. My brand fits in the luxury market by remaining competitive at a price level despite the choice of materials at a very high level.
How is their choice?
They are the first thing I decide. I always focus on fluffy, pure, simple fabrics that give character and shape to the garments. Also, quality comes first and I always use silk, leather and pure cotton.
Future projects?
Future will be the evolution of today’s projects: I live day by day.
