Damaged in Italy. This is the slogan that Out-Of-Order has created to describe the concept behind the creation of its watches. Born in 2013 after a “long night”, the Venetian brand producing watches of the highest quality by the deliberately lived and unique aspect. The objective is be different in the style aspect and also in production: each model already born with aged appearance, both in the case that in the strap, realized thanks to a patent exclusive certificate company, for which each clock includes features that it differs from the other.
Interview with Riccardo Torrisi, founder of the brand:
When and why did you decide to found Out-Of-Order?
The world of watches has always fascinated me since I was a child, and when I could, with my savings, I have always given some special “piece”. My first “serious” watch, was a Swatch Scuba, I was 8 years old, First Communion, it was as if I had been given a lap of a Formula 1. I could never take it off. For women, though not all, they are shoes and handbags, for me are the clocks. That’s it. I can not help it. In February 2013, I am 25: during an evening with friends, thanks to a little hangover what is most precious I had on the wrist, fell to the ground, bruising conspicuously. Swear sometimes need up to a certain point, you better go home, sleep, and think again about it the next morning. I wake up, and instead fly very in a service center, I understand that maybe if there was a clock already aged, like faded jeans and vintage shoes for instance, it could resolve a bit of problems, or at least could get me to take a more serene day. I am having been fired exactly a month before I had a lot of time to work. How? As watch enthusiast, I had not the slightest idea how to build one. And frankly, not much capital to start. But after finding people who believed in this project, I started the whole together with Importime Srl, among the most famous in the area. I go well in this company and I present my idea to the owners, Claudio and Dario Dalla Mora Ceolotto, that despite the not exactly rosy period for the Italian economy, give me confidence, and as absurd and out of the box is, believe in my idea. We decide to try to develop it along with their super team. The result is then the Out of Order Srl, in which we are partners: Claudio, Dario and I.
The motto is “damaged in Italy”. Can you explain why?
It is said that the first rule to fall in love with a woman is to make her smile. We are in the third millennium, the product of fashion’s sake is the end of a cycle. Without neglecting an indication of what the end user will decide in this case to buy, you have to give “more emotion”, in this case a smile. Emiliano Vianello, our designer is the logo’s maker. Twenty years of experience and passion for their work, make sure that nothing is left to chance, and that idea during the whole embryo is interpreted as simple and straightforward as detailed. What kind of customers do you turn?
Although, as mentioned before, our products mostly represent a new aesthetic concept, a fundamental thing for us is the quality of the materials that we do not neglect, and not ever neglect. It should always be remembered as it may seem trivial that one thing besides being beautiful must above all be practical, especially if you talk about a clock. Following this premise, responding to your question, our products are appreciated especially by customers abroad with whom we would never presume to collaborate in such a short time, such is their importance and worldwide experience in the field of luxury. Given the materials they are made, how the production process is divided?
Out of Order to produce steel watches that through a process patented by us, we can grow old. The whole is designed and applied so that not absolutely nuocia to the skin and which does not dirty the clothes of the wearer. The straps cut and sewn by hand by expert craftsmen give the finishing touch. Finally, special attention is given to the packaging of raw wood that smells “vintage”, try it.
