Born in response to the economic recession of 2008, Black Comme des Garçons is the Rei Kawakubo’s line that offers an avantgarde design at affordable prices.
The Japanese fashion house, since the launch of Black Comme des Garçons, has always sold the sub-label just in a restricted number of stores, with the prohibition of selling online. The strategy included small pop-up distributed in 11 point of sales, in which the stock was renewed every two/three months. This was the reaction of Rei Kawakubo to those crisis years.

Now, in response to this dark period, for the first time ever, the collection Black Comme des Garçons is available online on the Dover Street Market official webstie.
The items with the avant garde aesthetic, recall the abstract and deconstructed style of the main line Comme des Garçons, reinterpreted in a more commercial and minimal way.
Naturally proposed in total black, the apparel selection is also composed by printed t-shirts and denim items washed in grey tones. The collection is flanked by 4 sneaker models realized in collaboration with Nike, like the Nike Waffle Racer 2.
