The history of these sneakers is really unique. Also a not very experienced at first glance immediately can understand that it is a vintage-inspired running shoe, which refers to the legendary 80s But there’s something more to tell, much more.
In 2013 a news began to circulating the word that in Argentina, a store in Buenos Aires, specializing in vintage, had an incredible availability of original vintage Adidas vintage sneakers including many dating back to the 80. The shop started to become a place of pilgrimage for lovers and finally, an expedition team Adidas English, I went ‘far beyond discovering a treasure trove of Deadstock sneaker, including the model that you see here: this is the Adidas Spezial New York, also encoded as Spzl.
Adidas, decided to put into production for the season autumn-winter 2015 a small celebratory package, consisting of the Spezial, in two colors, blue and gray, and two t-shirts, dubbed ‘Carlos’ pack, to pay homage to the holder store in Buenos Aires Carlos Ruiz you see portrayed in these shots whose face was also reproduced on the tongue of the light blue model.
This trip, not only produced this special edition, but it was an opportunity to draw and retrieve styles and details that will reverberate even in future collections of the brand with the three stripes.
