Virgil Abloh impresses on Instagram with these sneakers from OFF-White ODSY-1000. A prototype? A new exit already scheduled? Sorry for ignorance. We do not know yet.
They look like photos taken (or sent) directly from a factory that is working on prototypes of OFF — White. And it seems that they came so well that Virgil could not resist posting them on Instagram. To create hype … or just share a strong emotion with your audience.
Judging by the responses on the social media, sneakers literally ignited a large part of the public.
They appear as a successful fusion of various styles and elements that recall several historical sneakers of famous brands, but fused in an aggressive and creative way to create something completely new. And quite convincing. The result is a sneaker with a trial running impact, but obviously designed for a purely fashion purpose.
It strikes the very high silhouette of the sole, which traces the volumes of triple-sun despite being in fact a one-sun. High but projected forward, with rubber studs that draw a frontal propulsion.
Then, on the heel, I am amusing the engraving of the mm of water, which the sneakers could actually measure on the ground.
The tongue reminds me a lot of those of the Air Max 180, both for the materials, for the shape, both for the rubber logos overlaid, while the plastic side links remind me of the Puma Disc,finally the rods that pass under the upper of the shoe like veins under the skin are a quote to the recent Nike Flywire technology.
But in short, the mix is of great personality and certainly made to never go unnoticed.
Virgil wants to attack the sneakers market with its brand after having fired and flared with the Nike x Off-White collaboration that apparently is about to end.
When will we see these shoes come out? We still do not know how to say it with certainty.
