In a rainy New York, Donatella Versace decides to celebrate what would have been the 72nd birthday of her brother Gianni, who died now 21 years ago. And it does so in style, with a fashion show at the American Stock Building, presenting the Pre-Fall 2019 collection.
The tribute also extends to the city of New York, home to many memories spent with his brother and that she has always called “extreme”.
Here, then, a t-shirt appears on the catwalk that combines the Medusa logo with the iconic “I Love NY” logo by Milton Glaser, combined with a “powerful” style. The collection, a union of male and female prêt-à-porter, overflowed with varnished leather, animal prints and golden safety pins, successfully combining codes from the stylistic heritage of the fashion house with more contemporary aspects.

So we could see “That Dress”, the dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley in 1994, the baroque clothes of Autumn 1991, the candy colors of Spring 1992, the printed with the hearts of Spring 1997 and the “JLo Dress” from the neckline vertiginous of the year 2000, all refreshed and updated to today’s tastes.
On the other hand, after the news of the acquisition of Versace by Michael Kors last September, Donatella had already warned us that nothing would change … And so it was!
