Salehe Bembury, the new head designer of the Versace sneakers department has placed a paw that is already making people talk.
In fact, the Maison presented a sneaker that unequivocally cites the iconic and legendary Apple sneaker.
In place of the bitten apple ‘rainbow’ effect, here, as was imaginable, there is a medusa logo with rainbow embroidery.
The Apple shoe was created only for employees in the early 90’s and never sold on the public market. And for this reason it has remained an icon that, in cases where it ended up on the market, has been placed at crazy prices, because for collectors it represents a real piece of history.
The general silhouette reminds one of a Reebok. The version of Versace has a sole that deviates from the original Apple, and recovers a style that has been matched to the Adidas Continental 80.
It remains to be seen when they will come out and at what price they will be offered, even if it is obvious that the price list will be in line with Medusa prices. One thing we have no doubt about is the market success they will have.
Good job.
