Dr. Martens celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 1460 boot, with a monthly reinterpretation of the combat boots. In May, it will collaborate with the Japanese brand Undercover.
We already attended the reinterpretations by Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, BEAMS, and BAPE. For the fifth collaboration, Dr. Martens asked to Jun Takahashi, Undercover‘s designer, how would have imagined the flagship model of the British brand.
Takahashi responded with a version of the iconic 1460 boot minimal, covering the silhouette in black corduroy. Each pair is embroidered with an “S” and an “N” on the upper, which stands for “Spiritual noise“, the Undercover‘s slogan.
The presence of the Japanese brand is noticed also in details: in fact, the inner sole is decorated with a floral motif designed for the collaboration, which is taken over the packaging.
Is not the first time that the two brands collaborate together, in fact, we remember the pair of patent leather lace-ups released in 2019, and the collaboration Undercover x Supreme in 2016, which included a selection of Dr. Martens characterized by the “Anarchy” symbol.
Undercover x Dr. Martens 1460 boot will be made in England, produced in the original Dr. Martens factory in Northamptonshire. The release is expected for 23rd May on the Dr. Martens official website.
