AT THE END OF SUMMER THE TWO BRANDS ARE BACK TO COLLABORATE, LAUNCHING THE SECOND CAPSULE OF ASICSTIGER

The collaboration between Asics and Vivienne Westwood reaches a second chapter. Or drop, as we say today. In fact, after the first sneaker launched in April 2019, inspired by the early punk years of Vivienne Westwood and the iconic Squiggle print of the Pirates collection, the new release includes 3 new ASICSTIGER models that explore a later period in the history of the British designer, with reference to the historical and artistic influences of the eighteenth century by Francois Boucher on the work of Dame Westwood.

The aesthetic path is parallel to that of time, which both brands seem to suffer. Each collection of the British fashion house is fresh, irreverent and precise in rebel, punk and eco-friendly codes; the Japanese company’s releases leave the many fans breathless since its inception – dated 1977 – it collects all over the world. «This explains the fact», they begin from Japan, «that both Asics and Vivienne Westwood share a long history of unique designs achieved through quality, experience and innovation. This shared story and the desire of the brands to transcend the ordinary have given rise to this collaboration.» For the second time.

THE THREE MODELS: HyperGEL-LYTE™, GELSAGA™ AND GEL-DS TRAINER OG™

They are the real protagonists of the collaboration between Asics and Vivienne Westwood. The characteristics, able to make them unique, in the whole and in the details are different. As for the HyperGEL-LYTE™: «they were revisited through the printing on the leather upper of the romantic and rococo painting Daphne and Chloe by the French artist François Boucher. The painting is in one of Vivienne’s favorite art galleries, the Wallace Collection.»

The GELSAGA™ model, on the other hand, was designed «to be in total contrast with the HyperGEL-LYTE™. The white leather upper hides the print of Boucher’s Daphe and Chloe painting on the sole.» Finally, the GEL-DS TRAINER OG™«sneaker is inspired by the color palette of the iconic Vivienne Westwood orb. In mesh with primary colors accentuated by contrast with black suede details and ASICS logo in reflective fabric. The Bouche painting is the hidden detail inserted into the sole of the shoe.»

The collection is available exclusively in Vivienne Westwood boutiques including the one in Milan in Corso Venezia 25 and in ASICS stores.
