For years now Kanye West has been an undisputed idol on the world streetwear scene: trendsetters, irreverent, avant-garde and iconic. His artistic career ranges from music to sneakers and clothes. The irreverent Kanye we knew, however, has been gone for some years. His personality is changing, as well as his style and activities. Its evolution goes from a strongly rap and aggressive musical repertoire, leather jackets, jeans and chelsea boots up to the current Kanye which releases its latest album “ye” with gospel sounds and textual references to the family and to God; now his style is more relaxed with oversized garments, joggers and sliders.

We are seeing in him a real meditative and spiritual process in progress, also given by the tradition of his family and his daughter North West: the Sunday Service. With his album “ye” he transforms it into events: musical jam performed by Kanye together with a gospel choir in various places that change every Sunday as well as American VIP guests. These sessions that carry an obvious religious heritage, starting from the choice of the day and refer a lot to the cross-sections of African American life and the African ecclesiastical Sundays, with the difference that instead of the pastor there is Kanye. If seen as a spectator it may seem only a form of narcissism of a billionaire, in reality we can review an act of redemption also wanted by his wife Kim Kardashian after his period of emotional collapse that he lived after 2016. And in this religion has always albeit more vehemently part of the career of the artist who has always professed himself a Christian.

During this period Kanye also undertook a meditation process and that led him to move away from the magnificence of Calabasas for a ranch in Wyoming to give life to his other social project: Yeezy Campus.

Kanye wants a ranch in an isolated location with many hectares of vacant land and falls in love with this property located in Wyoming: 11,000 acres of rural land. His will is to create architectures that allow man to discover his own potential and take himself out of everyday life. This concept is summarized by him with the expression: “Out of the box”. The boxes are the boxes in which we are all closed in our day during the various activities we carry out. According to his thought, man is made to be multi-dimensional and completely creative. The “Yeezy” lifestyle is in one word: FLOW. Expressed by the architectures designed by James Turrel and Claudio Silvestri.

As can be seen from these renders, the space is nothing short of a modern architectural masterpiece with oval structures and open spaces. The idea for the campus so open and curved derives from his vision of square spaces. Whether it’s a crib for children, classrooms for students or boxes in offices, rectangular shapes seem to hinder creative growth according to Kanye. Work on the campus has started; however, there is still no news on when it will open.
What they know is that Kanye West is carrying out projects for the social and with humans at the center, according to his vision of reality; surely however, the entrepreneurial side is certainly not lacking as well as the hand of marketing. Let’s not forget his latest statement in Forbes about his $ 3.3 billion assets. For now we can only wait with interest and amazement at what he is planning and how all this undoubtedly has an almost “divine” character.
