In the Fall – Winter 2020/2021 fashion show, Margielian Mary Janes make their appearance.
We have already seen with Nodaleto, the emerging brand (but already widely emerged I would say, thanks to the success it is having in girls and influencers on the web, who post their shoes tagging them) of Sofia Toledano, that the Mary Jane is the shoe of the moment.
Eternally young, with a scholastic and carefree appeal, yet still motionless in a sensual setting that recalls an already adult and established woman.
The shoes are inspired by the historic Tabi Boots of the maison, which made their appearance since the first Martin Margiela show in 1989. Over the years, the Tabi Boots have undergone countless variations: between processes (which the most famous are the brushed paint ones) and new nuances there are really many aesthetic possibilities of this shoe.

Among the possibilities, today is added that of the Mary Jane, decidedly more “bon ton” than the usual tone of voice of the designer, who does not fail to sign them with his most evident figure: the ninja cut of the Tabi.
The reason for the stylistic variety offered by the Tabi is to be found in their success, probably due to the references to the Japanese aesthetic that inspired the Tabi: the Tabi in Japan are the typical Japanese socks with a thong cut.

The available colors of the Mary Jane model are the classic and evergreen ones, which emphasize the minimal imprint: black, tobacco brown and white.
It is possible to buy Maison Martin Margiela Mary Janes on the brand’s official website, here.
