The New York designer Telfar Clemens, the creator of the it bag of the moment, will collaborate with UGG on a capsule coming in 2021.
We remember 2010 as the year in which Telfar Clemens used UGGs to dress some models in the Fall/Winter 2011 fashion show, an unauthorized choice, but simply the result of his passion for the ugly boots.
Now, 10 years later, Clemens himself has announced a collab with UGG.
I think a lot of fashion collaborations attempt to elevate something popular. I am not into high and low as a concept, period. What I want to do is get down to the DNA of UGG and see what genes we have in common. To get down to the core of that feeling.
The partnership is devoted to the democratization of the item, both for the price range and for the design itself, a decision in line with Telfar‘s philosophy. As explained on the UGG website, the interpretation of the boot will be bold, courageous, rebellious, just like the proposal in the fashion show by the then-emerging New York designer.
In the promotional video, we see Clemens himself trying on the clothes from the collection, on which the Telfar logo merges with the one of UGG, all accompanied by scenes in which the designer carries out the housework.
We just have to wait until 2021 to find out what the UGG by Telfar boots will look like. Meanwhile, we got an idea: they will be bold, no-gender, comfortable and destined to be sold out.
