After celebrating a decade of the Shadow Project line, the Italian label Stone Island published a video presenting another of its revolutionary fabrics.
Known as artificial suede leather, the innovation of the Parka Man-Made Suede stands in a non-woven fabric made of nylon microfibres and polyurethane resins created through an elaborate industrial process that results in a mattress of 22 super thin layers of microfibre, assisted from a polyethylene component. The material is then impregnated with resins and coagulated. The result is a substrate which is lightened, by washing, by the polyethylene component and finally treated until the suede effect is obtained.
Stone Island is able, for the first time in history, to ennoble a coagulated fabric through garment dyeing. The addition of a special agent to the dyeing recipe makes the garment anti-drop.
Among the details we find the hood with detachable lapel turned in felt with a large Stone Island needle-punched logo and the big Stone Island “Rosa dei Venti” logo with Tiger motif lasered inside.
The inside is totally detachable and reversible consisting of nylon bomber lined in bear.
