Rick Owens collaborates with Converse for TURBODRK Chuck 70 launch

Rick Owens, the designer who revolutionized classic shapes and pieces of fashion through his iconic dark style, had already unveiled the sneaker during Fashion Week FW21. But now we have confirmation: new partnership DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 is on way.

Made for DRKSHDW line that blends punk and couture, the sneaker is an unmistakable Rick Owens interpretation of the classic silhouette. It features a triple toecap and double sole coming in both high and low form, with a durable canvas upper and co-branded details on the tongue and heel. The reworked silhouette distinguishing feature is its square toe construction, first used on the sneaker. Rick Owens thus created a Chuck 70 unlike any other, where aesthetic embraces traditional structure and then explodes in an unexpected shoe.

Rick Owens, with the well-known Rick Owens Ramones shoe that has been around since 2013, has always followed in the footsteps of the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor design, paying homage to it. Not surprisingly, today, we finally see the designer collaborating with Converse, officially giving his own touch to an evergreen.

For the launch of the collab, the best faces could only be chosen, Fecal Matter, and if you don’t know them, I suggest you go and take a look at their instagram profile @materiesfecales. The duo created an entirely self-shot and independent global campaign where they were able to fully express their artistic vision.

The worldwide release date is set for July 27 at 10.00 EST on rickowens.eu and converse.com.
