Raf Simons' SS21 is inspired by films such as "Alien" and "The Breakfast Club"

“Teenage dreams” is the name of the show co-ed SS 2021 Raf Simons, inspired by some of the great classics of filmography!

The models for the SS 2021 show by Raf Simons are immersed in a psychedelic and surreal environment, inspired by the atmosphere of the classic English literature “Alice in Wonderland“.

Raf Simons debuted, then, with his first women’s collection, in a virtual fashion show organized outside the calendar of Paris fashion week.

The first model emerges from a crack just like the Italian rabbit and plunges into a forest of “surreal” colors…

The generation described by Raf Simons, however, is not contemporary, but is inspired by the films that have accompanied him in the past and that continue to inspire his design for the future.

The collection is in fact a celebration of the designer’s style, visibly influenced by the style Prada, of which he has recently been creative co-director alongside Miuccia Prada.

“Hair”, “Alien”, “Isolation”, “Alice in Wonderland”, “The Breakfast Club” and “Disorder” are just some of the films that inspired the recurring garments and graphics in the collection.

The feminine lines are thin and the skirts are in coloured silk, sleeveless tunics and coloured turtlenecks with monogram prints. Oversized sweaters are the same for both men and women and are presented in mustard and eggplant.

Psychedelic prints alternate on the long sleeves over the hands and on the huge hooded ponchos.

The vest is declined in various shapes and serves to create a stratification effect, which gives styling a slightly “shabby” effect.

The looks are completed by accessories, such as colored plastic pins, and hairstyles with an English style reminiscent of the early Beatles.
