What happens when two seemingly distant realities meet? Sometimes interesting alchemies are born. This is the case of the collaboration between Pijama and Waxman Brothers, which can be purchased during the Milan Design Week. We know, moreover, that the week of the Salone del Mobile is a unique opportunity to combine worlds and arts that usually do not find themselves talking to each other.
If the first reality is well known, nowadays, to the lovers of contemporary Italian fashion, the second one needs a few words more, despite the fact that it derives from an entirely Italian idea, even in the realization of the garments, of two friends. However, it finds its creative headquarters in that of Paris where it was born in 2014, in the 18th arrondissement. And it is this district, with its vivacity and melting pot of cultures that is the model of the brand, especially the African one. As mentioned by the name, in fact, the project produces prints inspired by afrobeat, taking advantage from the wax, boasting, moreover, the record for this type of production.
But let’s get back to the news in question: together, the Milanese accessories brand – like the soft covers for tablets and laptops – founded in 2006 by fashion designer Monica Battistella with architect Sergio Gobbi – and the Italian-French brand, reproduced the pieces iconic of the first, all joined together by the same Wax fabric. The colors, as shown in the pictures, are the fascinating blue and gold, tempered by the classic black. Among the new features, the launch of the Metron large backpack.
For those interested in discovering the capsule collection, the save the date for the party is April 20, 2018 at 18, in via Pastrengo 11, at the Pijama store, one of the two stores where you can buy the accessories offered. The other is from Waxman Brothers in via Toscana, the flagship store recently inaugurated at the Santeria.
