Nike comes with a completely new technology that uses 3D printing called Flyprint.
With Flyknit technology, launched in 2012, at the time we talked in a really shocked … and to see well what has happened in the years well. It is certainly not a technology that has remained in museums, just to make a good impression, but has entered the market massively, becoming not a reality but the reality. In short, the upper of Nike, started on a lot of models to be literally ‘spun’ with a special nylon thread, at the same time gaining lightness, breathability, comfort but also an environmental saving as it is a technology that does not provide scraps of fabric .
Today Nike showcases the future of textile technology for sneakers and name it Flyprint. We have been talking about 3D for years and how this technology will revolutionize the market. And here we are: because the Flyprint technology is the first in the world that makes an upper through a three-dimensional print made through the modeling of solid deposits, a process that involves the development of a TPU filament from a coil and is then melted and inserted in layers.
The same can also be combined with other materials such as Flyknit, which can be thermally bonded to the Flyprint material without the need for glue or seams.
The technology will already be present in the next Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite Flyprint. The shoe will be available in limited quantities this weekend in London through the Nike app.
