“A man can wear what he wants. It will always remain a woman’s accessory.” With this definition Coco Chanel clarified her point of view about the male category. Whether it is true or not, the man seems therefore profitable for the female sphere, and for this, it is better if he is carefully accessorised while standing next to her, so as not to disfigure her in her elegance. And if the tinsel that accompany it are of excellent quality, they can not but make his lady even more sophisticated. The made in Italy brand Cor Sine Labe Doli, has been carrying this task since 2010, with the creation of niche perfumes, bow ties, ties and, now, men’s clothing. For this occasion, Massimo Mazzilli, the founder and today also creative director, answered some questions.
Massimo, since 2010 has the brand evolved?
The brand has matured considerably: already starting from the collection for next winter it also offers men’s clothing, in addition to the usual and beloved collection of ceramic accessories. Currently I also take care of the stylistic and commercial aspects.
Looking for the brand on google, it appears the writing “the one and only ceramic papillon”, yet, from the foundation brand, others have taken “cue” to create their accessories. How do you differentiate and protect yourself, in a sense?
We always do this by proposing to our customer an innovative product, while maintaining the main characteristic that distinguishes us, or the ceramic detail that always embellishes our proposal. We consider it an honor to have been the first to enter this market, a real innovation of the last decade and to be taken as an industry reference.
Reminiscence is the autumn-winter 2018 collection: it combines tradition, intended as a production made in Italy, and glamor, an element linked more to aesthetics. Can you define both one and the other, especially compared to the current fashion situation, which sees the primacy, although some slight decline, of fast-fashion companies?
Our product certainly belongs to the traditional Italian sphere, at the production level. We use the best raw materials, but we try to satisfy even the customers who approach the world of accessories and bow ties also proposing very colorful and certainly attractive models for a younger audience. Even the clothing line with jacquard jackets and precious silk filaments follows this philosophy: quality and continuous product innovation.
What are the references, even cultural ones, from which I draw to create a new accessory?
Mainly I think it is very important to study in advance the main trends of the season, combining everything to my personal vision that derives from direct experience of travel, art and music.
Yo do not make just bow ties. Among the other accessories you also produce ties, braces, even perfumes. What are the elements they have in common?
With the addition of the clothing collection, Cor Sine Labe Doli offers a complete line of accessories from the tie to the twin for a contemporary man, but that never gives up a touch of elegance even in the most casual situations.
Plans for the future?
I would like to be able to increase the line of clothing just launched with more casual proposals, from the sweatshirt to the t-shirt.
