Foot Locker turns 45 and for the occasion, has brought together the European cultural shaper, including sneaker head and various brand partners, to participate at the #NameYour5 campaign, selecting the best 5 sneakers of all time.
Since the opening of its first store in California, Foot Locker has always been intertwined with the birth, rise and domination of sneaker culture. This subculture, once a niche, has now become a large global community and Foot Locker is celebrating its 45th anniversary with its followers.
Distributed in six European countries, Foot Locker has collaborated with local sneaker heads, both OG and more recent collectors, to pay tribute to the culture of sneakers, sharing their selection of the 5 best sneakers of all time and inviting their community to do the same.
Among the 17 cultural shaper and sneaker heads from all over Europe who share their five best sneakers of all time in the campaign, Italians stand out: Side Baby, a Roman trapper in hype thanks to his album ‘Arturo’ released last April , while as street style icons we find Federico Schwartz and Luca Santeramo, true masters of style with a great following on social media.
The personal videos were all entirely created by the talents themselves and invite fans from all over the world to publish their first five GOT (Greatest Of All Time) sneakers, kicking off a worldwide social campaign with the hashtag #NameYour5.
In store and online, starting September 12th, sneakers lovers from all over Europe will also have the chance to pack a pair of “birthday sneakers”, thanks to the launch of four exclusive silhouettes made specifically to celebrate the anniversary.
Thus the adidas LA Trainer, adidas AM4 Ultra Boost, Puma Liquid Cell and Converse Chuck Taylor models are redesigned wearing the famous striped Foot Locker logo.
