We always keep everything and everyone at a safe distance. Very few gain a place in our strange world. Maybe that’s why most of the time we try to keep that expression serious and detached in the face. Maybe that’s why the fashion world doesn’t seem to be going to smile at life.
Yes, you know that the fashion world does not open its doors easily. It is complicated, where only appearance matters more than the essence of people. We are all ready to criticize the fashion system, but if you think about it the same detached attitude and slightly snobbish we all have it and in many circumstances. Even for just a split second, everyone, when we know a new person, when we face a different situation than usual, we erect the antennas and take on that pose as a serious soldier ready to defend himself at any time.

This is because man has always been on the defensive until he feels completely comfortable. I think this is a waste. I also think that if we relaxed for a moment everyone could live in a more peaceful way.
Pay attention to it, when you walk on the street and meet the smiling face of someone who is passing you by pure chance, your mood automatically becomes more relaxed. This is because the smile is contagious, you know.
Laughter is what puts us all on the same level. That invisible rope capable of binding us to each other. In fashion everyone has always wondered where the smile ended. On the catwalks only angry faces and long faces. Maybe because a serious expression on the face is synonymous of intelligence and cultural depth? Well I have met a lot of serious and detached people and believe me it is not that they were wells of science … So the reason is perhaps another.

Personally if I wore the clothes of the models on the catwalk I would have a dazzling smile, because even for just three minutes I could show off the clothes of my dreams. But this is real life and I’m not a model, I’ve made a reason for it now.
“Never forget that they are the clothes they are looking at and not the models,” was recommended to Victoire Macon Dauxerre, a former model for Celine. Here is the reason for so much sadness and seriousness is perhaps this.
In reality, however, this has not always been the case. If we go back to the 80s we will remember these years as the period of supermodels (Cindy Crawford, Imam and Elle Macpherson), with a great and strong personality. Even in 1960, when the collections were presented as shows, models often smiled, laughed and danced to the rhythm of music. Now, however, they walk like hangers. It is the era of fashion without expression, a way to erase the identity of the models to remind the world that what we are looking at are the clothes of the stylists.

A positive aspect in this tendency that abolishes the smile would seem to be there. Unlike the 1950s, where models smiled like dolls, sometimes fake and idealized with female emancipation, and thanks to stylists like Yves Saint Laurent, they preferred an androgynous look, and women became more masculine and powerful.
Several models, however, appeared radiant at the Paul Smith fashion show. “I didn’t tell them to smile,” said the British designer. “I have nothing against smiling. If clothes make them happy, they will smile.”

The smile lately returns to the catwalk with several brands with an optimistic and positive vision. First of all, the legendary Parisian designer Sonia Rykiel, who throughout her career has always preferred models with a youthful and playful attitude. What the designer set out to do was to involve people in a carefree atmosphere. Her show ends saw a riot of joy: the models hopping and twirling around playing with each other.

Jeremy Scott, a nonconformist who made the smiley his hallmark and irony on the catwalk a signature. He is the designer who follows Sonia for bringing the self-irony used as a way to take herself less seriously and bring joy not only in fashion, but in our life in general.
Positive vibes in fashion live on the catwalks also thanks to the designer from across the Alps Jacquemus. Stylist who challenges the common conventions of the fashion system with the only weapon of good humor, proposing a carefree and accessible fashion, perhaps not for our pockets, but conceptually certainly.

At this point understood that even in the fashion world the smile is no longer a taboo the advice I can give you is to give you a good laugh. I believe it is the best way to face life, but above all the people you will meet.
Be amazed also by the new smiling face of Gucci Beauty!
