Covid-19 has changed the world of fashion and Fashion Weeks that, although differently, will start again – see the article on the Digital Fashion Week in London.
Dior, historic Parisian brand, has decided that will parade but behind closed doors, and will do so in Puglia, precisely in the beautiful city of Lecce.
This information was leaked from a press conference held yesterday attended by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pietro Beccari, CEO of the brand.
Puglia was chosen for the link that creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri has with the region, her father was born in Tricase in the province of Lecce in 1931!
The Cruise Collection had, in fact, to parade in Lecce on May 9 and after the cancellation because of the pandemic, the event has slipped to July.
On July 22nd, then, in the central Piazza del Duomo the collection of Dior will parade, but without any public.
A novelty brought by the Covid-19 are the virtual runways, a more democratic solution…but certainly less suggestive!
From the conference it emerged that Dior will also participate in the Paris Fashion Week in September but not in the one in July (from 6 to 8), which however will be mainly virtual.
