Rei Kawakubo’s label returns alongside Nike and sets its sights on a 90s silhouette!
To better inaugurate the Spring / Summer 2021 season, COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS revealed the new sneakers in partnership with Nike during its last show. A collaboration that this time too will not disappoint, indeed a fiery return is expected. This is the retro mid-top model: Air Carnivore, launched in 1993. It practically disappeared from the radar in the last ten years, and is now ready for a more modern reworking, thanks to the bold and subversive vision of the Japanese brand.
Available in two compositions: Triple White and Triple Black, the sneaker strips off the extended panels used in the original version to give way to a minimal, simple and discreet design. The upper, in fact, extends into a mesh structure, with inserts in neoprene and matching leather. Adjustable straps with Nike branding extend in the central part, while the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS logo hovers on the back, above the heel. Finally, both models are embellished with 3M reflective inserts, an extra touch of magic to the shoe.
The arrival on the shelves is expected to coincide with the CDG SS21 collection. But some sources report that the model is now available on Dover Street Market Ginza, priced at $ 350.
