To best honor the Air Max Day 2021, here is the highly anticipated new version of the Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death – Cha”!
Following the recent success of the first Air Max 1 “KOD” model, the Clot once again joins the giant Nike, proposing a new collaboration that features the sneaker, with the same transparent design on the toe and the same colored graphics on the sole, however enriched with a new message. Drawing inspiration from cha (tea in Chinese), the forthcoming version takes up one of the most ancient oriental traditions, what the Orientals themselves define “one of the seven necessities of Chinese life”, the act of enjoying tea after a session of reflexology. As an Instagram post by Edison Chen, founder of Clot, announces, “after reflexology, tea usually comes”.

If on the one hand the color of the shoe recalls an old champion of 2006, on the other the colors are an ode to the different types of Chinese tea, with a particular propensity for brown. The “Rocky Tan” suede leather covers the entire upper in contrast with the “Sport Red” on the Swoosh and with the transparent and perforated toe imprinted with characters referring to the ancient practice. Other details are added such as Clot embroidery on the heel, matching Nike Sportswear tongues and midsoles with red Air units on the back. But the extra touch is given by the semi-transparent sole, almost translucent ice, which portrays a multicolored diagram of a foot, further reaffirming the theme of plantar reflexology.

Shades of the cigar, light brown and bright red alternate, giving an overall elegant silhouette, expertly studied and elaborated. The Air Max 1 “K.O.D. – Cha” version is now available for HKD 1,099 (approximately $ 170 USD). Although the new model is exclusive to the Chinese market, we other international consumers can buy them through the Juice Store platforms.
