Marta Lapalombella is strong, determined and independent. This is how she show herself at the presentation, at 88 showroom, of the autumn-winter 2016.17 collection of 10 Bags, her brand of bags hand-made in Italy, in Milan.
Dressed in black, her hallmark, she tells enthusiastically her experience lived during the creation of her accessories, full of new details like the hidden zip in the iconic brand backpack. “But that’s not all” explains Lapalombella, “in fact, I wanted to focus, from a conceptual point of view, the idea of mistake. Very often, especially in the fashion industry, this is seen as a fault of the designer, a sign little attention. I did so it became the added value of my bags. I am convinced that it is what differentiates people, which makes them unique”.
The bags, all totally black, however, are divided into two lines: black and white. The first is inspired by the shape of the key violin, and all models carry the name of the stave notes. Unlike the white, which is fully lined, this line is characterized by a zip game and a special central pocket on the front of the bag, and this in three variants: smooth skin, skin “bruised” – a process designed by the designer, date by a mix of technical and born by mistake, a true example of hand-made – and skin with “monkey” processing (carved to simulate the fur in the monkey, to create a more dynamic effect).
The white models are distinguished by the sophisticated seam point harness with waxed thread. 10 Bags by Lapalombella decided to also give a new design to permanent models of the brand: “The white part incorporates some existing pieces in previous collections but, now, are revisited in style, but always maintaining the concept of lightness and processing shape, distinctive trait of the brand. With a few simple steps it is possible to change the silhouette and volume of bags, modifying them and adapting them to different situations and look. ”
10 Bags purses are important, strong and with a precise identity. They do note compromise and are carried away by the creativity to find, who knows, one day, an even darker than black color, even more elegant and purposeful.
