The brand that blends the Wes Anderson aesthetic to the Californian style.
Band of Outsiders was born in 2004 as a line of men’s shirts and ties, founded in Los Angeles by Scott Sternberg. In 2009, introduced a polo line with the brand “This is not a Polo Shirt“, referring to Magritte‘s painting “Ceci n’est pas une pipe“.
The brand has subsequently developed a men’s casual clothing line and, in 2016, moved its headquarter to London.
Among the various collaborations with top brands, we recall the one with Sperry Top-sider, Manolo Blahnik, Opening Ceremony and Sergio Tacchini.
Drawing on a strong sense of nostalgia, the brand offers a “classic, but with a twist” apparel, inspired by and reinterpreting the classic American sportswear garments.
The advertising campaigns are entirely shot with Polaroids, initially chosen for their flexibility, accessibility and ease, but which soon became a brand signature.
For the spring/summer 2020, Band of Outsiders has collaborated with the multidisciplinary artist Amit Greenberg, creating a collection characterized by playful graphics printed on light fabrics and bright colors, which celebrate the summer light-heartedness seen by the Belgian designer Angelo Van Mol.
