In a busy life of business, travels, office, sport, urban passages through vehicles, bicycles or vehicles belonging to the so-called ‘smart mobility’ … Black Ember, American brand based in California, presents the New Forge Pack-20 the commuter bag that has convinced me most for a long time, available in various sizes, but which I particularly love in the more compact variant Forge-20.
I dreamed of a modern, technological and stylish object, which could be used as the classic pc-carrying shoulder strap in which to insert all my personal items, but which if necessary could be transformed into one in a business-style briefcase and , also, in a backpack, when the comfort of the moment requires it.
And here is the new New Forge series, in all its wonderful minimal style and with all those hyper-technological details, which on the one hand give a superior style (needless to deny it) and at the same time help in small daily gestures … to bring with us and manage all those objects and devices that are now an extension of ourselves and fundamental for our work.
The New Forge series presents a series of bags, of different sizes (extendable in the Forge and Max versions) which thanks to a zip allows an extension of the size from 20 to 3o liters. As already mentioned, the New Forge is at the same time:
- a backpack
- a briefcase with handle
- a messenger bag
The details are cared for in a maniacal way. The bag is made of a water-resistant Microhex textile fabric, and also the zips are YKK model Aquaguard. The new Forge 20 has three-dimensional padded shoulder straps, the tie rods have magnetized hooks and a padded and suspended pocket for the lapotop. There are also countless compartments for quick access to a whole series of objects such as keys, wallets, phone and padded and protective compartments for tablets and laptops.
The ‘clamshell’ style zip wraps the whole profile of the backpack allowing you to place it on a flat surface, open it completely and easily access all its contents.
The back is padded in a double layer of EVA (that of the best running shoes) to guarantee ultra-soft support to the back, at the same time combined with a perforated panel that allows an air flow to circulate to keep us fresh and dry during the summer.
The Forge-20 costs $ 215 in preorder (with a 10% discount) to be made in March for a delivery scheduled for April on the official Black Ember site.
