Demna Gvasalia has chosen to show Balenciaga‘s Spring/Summer 2021 collection with a video streaming.
“Creating real clothes for real people“, this has been the Maison’s mission since the 1930s, and now, to carry on this philosophy, Demna Gvasalia thinks about it, elevating the concept of the collection by bringing it between the boulevards of Paris: the most street way to present his creations.
The models walk decisively in time with Sunglasses at night, a remix of Corey Hart‘s 80s hit, wearing tracksuits with large volumes, garments with maxi logos, joggers, sneakers, practical backpacks and slippers with heels, which are already doing around the web. With a definitely streetwear imprint, there is no lack of references to the Maison’s archive: the items offered are functional and genderless, a template that will reduce the impact on the environment of a gender production model.
