Some time ago we told you about Avavav, the Florentine brand that combines Scandinavian minimalism, typically Italian tailoring quality and sustainable philosophy in a completely extravagant and surreal aesthetic. How can we forget the strange boots, the so-called Bloody Feet, similar to the paw of a monster or a dinosaur, designed to face the post-pandemic world with an extra touch of ironic and fantasy. Well, once again the brand returns to the scene under the artistic direction of Beate Karlsson to announce its second collection, without of course forgetting its flagship accessory.
An important brand identity is that of Avavav which has always proudly carried forward the green and ecological perspective, based on the recycling of leftover waste from nearby fashion houses. And on this occasion, the materials used certainly do not go unnoticed, thanks to their recognizability. Impossible not to notice that detail in the campaign images, also attributable to the same title chosen: “Avavav x F * ndi x B * rberry x J * qcuemus” (deliberately provocative); the new collection is therefore a mix of the iconic motifs of the (semi) luxury brands mentioned, overall a patchwork that perfectly reflects the ideology of the Florentine brand. As the label reveals: ‘F * n of 20%, B * rberry 20%, J * qcuemus 25%, Other 35%: 100% Avavav’.
“When I saw these fabric scraps, I felt the need to include them in our drop. There were fabrics registered by the most luxurious brands in the industry up for grabs, so I decided to include them in the collection. Last but not least, I use them because I think this raises the question of what would happen to these materials if we were not allowed to use them “
The unmistakable waste fabrics of the fashion houses embellish not only the clothing of the new line, but also the monstrous footwear. The flagship items are in fact the orange terry coat alternated with inlays by a double FF logomania and the mammoth boots with typical Jaqcuemus floral motifs alternating with the well-known Burberry tartan pattern. Long fitted dresses, python suits, pastel-toned prints complete a versatile, youthful collection with a 90s aftertaste.
If you are interested, know that the brand produces in small quantities. So hurry up and buy the new collection, now available on the online store with super affordable prices!
