Everyone has a place that they see as an escape route. That of Rhuigi Villaseñor, founder of Rhude, is Monaco. He lets us know in his new spring / summer 2022 collection which takes the name of “Monaco with God ‘s Help“.
We found ourselves several times talking about brand collections or even fashion shows that were committed to reflecting the life of recent years struggling with the pandemic. Also this time the Rhude brand cannot help but talk about it. After such a long period of uncertainty, the designer Villaseñor thinks about what post-pandemic life will be like and the questions he asks himself are many. The main ones are: what will young people wear when they emerge from the months spent at home? Will traditional dress rules still apply?
Rhuigi Villaseñor tries to respond with the SS22 collection, focusing on an ‘informal formality‘. He is committed to creating new shapes starting from classic clothes worn during the summer season in Monaco, taking inspiration from Slim Aarons, Rat Pack of the 60s and the Twenties.

The intent of the Rhude collection is to embody an optimistic spirit, to give joy to those who prepare and choose the look of the day. Starting from a practical and comfortable white jumpsuit for summer to a satin jacket in which the luxury and glamor of Monaco and a more informal style are well balanced. The casual fit of the college-style jacket combined with a white shirt, a black tie and a mustard-colored moccasin cannot be missing. Cashmere and silk are the main processes that we find within the collection. Knitwear is not lacking either. Each element evokes the desire for the perfect Monaco holiday.
And now it’s up to you to ask yourself some questions: did Rhuigi Villaseñor succeed in his intent? Can you see the upbeat spirit of the collection? Would you like to wear these clothes after all these months spent at home? I leave the answers to you ..
