The collection is presented on September 18th, at the beginning of the Milan fashion week, with a party in via Vivaio, between Villa Necchi Campiglio and the Quadrilatero. In a city where the summer is not over yet. As it happens throughout the year, or almost, in California, topos that inspired the partnership. For this reason, the cult model, the timeless Chuck Taylor All Star ’70, has been customized with hand-stitched patches that represent elements typical of the Californication style.

“Converse has always been a part of my life. Since I was a child I used to wear them, I saw them worn by friends and parents. They are symbols of my generation and many others. They have been iconic from punk to pop and have accompanied, and continue to accompany, millions of people through billions of steps. Working and modifying an icon like Chuck Taylor was at first almost blasphemous and certainly conceptually intimidating. After the first stalemate I faced the challenge as I always do with my collections: trying to have fun, imagining what I’d like to wear and see people wear. For this special costumization I worked fifteen pairs of Converse Chuck Taylor ’70 all strictly white, which have been transformed under various applications to the elements present in the prints of the collection: Cadillacs, road signs, palm trees and beach houses. A tribute to California and to the theme of the “American” in general, of which Converse is not only part, but is one of the greatest exponents.” Marras explains his personal history and as a designer with the brand made in the USA.
