Tell us a little about how and when Tu Lizé was born

Camilla: it can be said that we are “daughters of art”, therefore the world of fashion has always been very close to us as our mothers are sisters and have been working in the family company that deals with the production of accessories for 40 years on behalf of third parties. Furthermore, we have always had a propensity and passion for fashion. In fact, Tu Lizé was born in 2021 almost as a game, with the desire to make jackets for ourselves. The first garment created was the camouflage jacket with crochet wool sleeves and, after various appreciations, we decided to make clothes also for “amateur” commercial use, enjoying some success. Hence the idea of creating a brand. In our case, therefore, the product was born first and then Tu Lizé.

What kind of background did you have? How would you describe yourself?

Camilla: I studied law but, as anticipated, fashion has always been one of my passions, in fact I have always tried to combine this world with my studies by attending related courses such as “Fashion law”.

I think I am a very determined, proactive and courageous person.

Beatrice: fashion has always been one of my interests for me too and I studied economics at Bocconi with a background in art, culture and communication, carrying a study on fashion marketing as a thesis. Subsequently, during the master’s degree at Iulm, all my elective courses were in “Fashion Communication” then carrying out some internships in showrooms.

I define myself as an emotional, calm, creative and enterprising person.

Camilla: our way of being, the common passion for fashion, the desire to want to create something of our own and certainly the historical moment we experienced in Bergamo during the pandemic gave the necessary push to create something new, which was stimulating and innovative.

Where does your brand name come from?

Beatrice: Tu Lizé doesn’t have a real meaning but it comes from the inspiration of the first crochet we made for the SS21 as the embroidery design had the shape of a flower.
